“Breakfast is everything” said AA Gill – and he’s right...

The opportunity to open a simple food offering was too good to miss and Alde Cafe opened with the ethos of a British breakfast cafe – a greasy spoon. Sean was, in part inspired by “Red Sauce Brown Sauce” a truly excellent book by Felicity Cloake and an article about the demise of the traditional caff by Isaac Rangaswami.  Also by "friends who have far more experience in the restaurant world than I’ll ever have!"

And his family…

Alde Cafe has it’s own style; we simply concentrated on the menu and cooking a great flavoured breakfast; ideally the best breakfast and working with our favourite and best local suppliers.

Not just any breakfast, but the best breakfast every time, every day… and only bubble & squeak.  â€‹

It is somewhere for family and friends to gather or for a solo breakfast.

The beauty of the cafe is that this is a meal that’s there for you at all times of the day – whether it’s to soften a hangover, fuel for the day or start the afternoon-  it’s a meal for all.

Simple food – what’s on our plates: our plates represent Suffolk – we have ensured that all our ingredients are as local as possible, all within East Anglia most from within a 25 mile radius.

We serve simple, good value food made with excellent ingredients every day.
